———— INTERVIEW ———–

Thank you for this interview, Jermaine! Can you tell us why you wrote Tactics, Trends, and Traits of the Enemy?

Yes, and thank you for this opportunity!  I wrote this book in order to equip people with the information and inspiration they need to overcome the various obstacles that are placed in their lives by the forces of darkness. I have found through my own experience and from counseling others, that sometimes we go through unnecessary spiritual, mental, emotional, and even physical battles in our lives because we accept our circumstances as normal, or at least normal for us, without realizing that what we are experiencing is not a normal struggle of life but a deliberate demonic attack that has been orchestrated for our demise.  I wrote this book to help people discern between what is a struggle that is normative to everyday life from one that is demonic and diabolical. The best way to defeat your enemy is to know your enemy.  The book exposes the enemy, and equips us to overcome his tactics.

Which part of the book was the hardest to write?

Most of the book is based on years of study, research, experience, and reflection.  So, there was not a particular part of the book that I would say was overtly challenging. However, the last section of the book, posed the greatest challenge because it covers material that may be controversial or even questionable to some people. This is because depending on a person’s walk of life, certain topics may be more sensitive to them than others.  I confront tough issues head on that I believe are a stumbling block to people walking in victory and living up to their God-given potential.

Does your book have an underlying message that readers should know about?

The underlying message is that we have victory over every assault and attack of the enemy by the power that is available to us in Jesus Christ. The central message is that knowing the enemy and his devices, equips us to fight against him and be more successful.  People perish because of the lack of knowledge. You do not have to accept every challenge that rears its head in your life.  You can effectively fight back and overcome, when you know the source of your struggle.

Do you have a writing tip you’d like to share?

A writing tip that works for me is making sure that I have the right environment to work in when I am writing. You have to figure out what works best for you and what helps your Tactics, Trends and Traits of the Enemy Cover creativity to flow. You may enjoy being in isolation while working on a desktop, or you may like to work in a busy or varied location on your laptop. You may work better during a certain part of the day than at some other time. I believe that if you know what environment you work best in, and are able to get in that environment on a regular basis, you will be able to write with more passion, enthusiasm, and creativity.

Would you like to tell us about your home life?

Sure.  I am married to my best friend, Kristy. We have been married for five years this year, and we have a two year old daughter, Khloe.

What was the first thing you did as far as promoting your book?

My wife, who is probably more excited about the book than I am beat me to the punch, and posted the book on Facebook before I got a chance to do anything. LOL.

What is the most frustrating part of being an author?

The most frustrating part of being an author is  making sure that I am able to communicate everything that needs to be said in a meaningful way. Sometimes the process of writing and publishing takes longer than desired or expected.  Writing a book is difficult, but often that is only half the battle. Editing and designing the project, then marketing the finished product for the public can be a major task, if you want it to be successful.

What is the most rewarding part of being an author?

For me the most rewarding part of being an author is knowing that I am able to reach people and touch people’s lives by what I have written.  It is a joy to be able to meet people or receive messages from people saying how they were positively impacted by what I have written.  Yet, at the same time there are countless people that I may never have the opportunity to meet in person, who will be able to pick up one of my books and be blessed by it.  That is very rewarding.
