Q: Does your book have an underlying message that readers should know about?

Whisper of Crows explores the fine line between sanity and insanity, and questions the nature of reality.

Q: Do you remember when the writing bug hit?

The writing bug hit me somewhere around 3rd grade. The teacher would write a sentence on the board and we would have to finish the story. The teacher would have to confiscate my paper and pencil because I wouldn’t stop writing.

Q: Besides books, what else do you write?  Do you write for publications?

I also right screen plays, music and lyrics. I am in the process of developing two films, one based on the Novel “whisper of Crows”. Writing music is a big part of my life. I use to play fulltime throughout most of the 90s.

Q: Do you have a writing tip you’d like to share?

Throw your TV out the window and read read read.

Q:  Would you like to tell us about your home life?  Where you live?  Family?  Pets?

I’m a single dad. I live with my three boys. Two of which I have raised on my own. My oldest is 18, my youngest is 8, and the middle one is 10.

Q:  Can you tell us a little about your childhood?

My childhood was a mixture of magic and Hell. I had an extremely dysfunctional family and I spent a lot of time in reform school and juvenile detention centers. Outside of those unfortunate times I spent a lot of magical time exploring.

Q: What do you do to get away from it all?

Disappearing into the woods is my favorite way to get away, but I also meditate. When that doesn’t work I drink lots of martinis with other crazy folks.

Q: Are you familiar with the social networks and do you actively participate?

I think twitter is a waste of time, however Facebook has been very helpful.

Q: If you had one wish, what would that be?

If I had one wish it would be to have endless wishes, and then I would be the Master of the Universe and appoint Bill Clinton to be king of the world, but all decisions would have to be approved by the Dali lama and Tony Robbins. Then I would make buffalo wings and martinis the healthiest food known to man.

Q: If you could be anywhere in the world other than where you are right now, where would that place be?

A log cabin deep in a forest untouched by unappreciative humans.

Q: Your book has just been awarded a Pulitzer.  Who would you thank?

I would thank all the humans that contributed to my unfortunate childhood, because, indeed, they are what fueled “The Whisper of Crows.”

Q: Thank you so much for this interview, (Jameson Hesse).  Do you have any final words?

“That which is real, is that which never changes.”
